I can’t believe the Bake Off has finished! So here is the last technical challenge. Becky has had to make the last 3 technical challenges but she’s got a lot of other cakes to make at the moment and I decided I was up to baking again so I agreed to make the final one. Click here to find out how the final challenge went.

IMG_0229Just before Christmas last year, a family friend, Emma, asked if I would be able to make her wedding cake. Despite not living near where the wedding was going to be I said yes since it was near my parents so I thought it would be a good chance to go back to my parents for a few days. P1170320Every year the company I work for takes part in the Enduro Challenge. This is an endurance relay event where a team of 6 athletes race from Tower to Tower – The Tower of London to The Eiffel Tower. It’s an enormous amount of fun and incredibly hard work and the athletes that take part are thoroughly deserving of plenty of homemade cakes! So it has become a tradition that I supply some home baked goodies, preferably themed for the event. So this year I have been busy baking some sea creature cupcakes.

Want to find out what’s lurking in the English Channel!?

20130904-114556.jpgIt’s been a while since I last did a post. It’s not that I haven’t baked anything, it’s more the fact that Tom came home – despite the fact he seems to be working constantly I suddenly have less free time! Anyway, I made this cake last weekend, with my sister. It was for our great Aunt’s 90th birthday – happy birthday Auntie Joan! We didn’t want to do just a plain sponge so the cake was lemon & poppy seed with a raspberry curd filling and a lemon buttercream – it was very light and delicious. Click here to keep reading.
