It’s definitely starting to feel autumnal in the mornings now, my favourite time of year! I made this cake for Rich’s Birthday last year having seen the recipe and really wanted to try it out. I love all the autumn baking flavours – spices, nuts, caramels, apples, pumpkins etc, and this cake certainly had a great combination of these. Click here to read more.

The recipe is from my favourite website – Half Baked Harvest, I have made so many of Teighan’s recipes and have never been disappointed! And this one definitively lived up to expectations, the recipe can be found here.

I didn’t quite get the toffee caramel bit right as it was too runny and shortly afterwards the apple had very little caramel on as it and all run off and the top was a big caramel puddle, but it tasted amazing and we all really enjoyed it.
