I was asked to create a cake for one of the Mum’s from Chloe’s old pre-school for her new baby daughters Christening. She had several ideas but was undecided on exactly what she wanted. So I designed a cake based on a few separate ideas that hopefully ticked all the boxes! Click here to see more pics of this gorgeous girly cake.

I made these last year for Emily’s Birthday for her to take into school. She wanted something with autumn leaves on and I had seen these on Pinterest and thought I would make some similar. Click here to find out more.

Over Easter weekend it was our Grandma’s 90th Birthday and to celebrate we had a wonderful family weekend together. It all started with a surprise Birthday lunch for Grandma followed by tea and cake of course! Making cakes for the family is always special, particularly this time as Emma and I were always fascinated by the sugar flowers that Grandma used to make, so it was really lovely to be able to make some for her. I always seem to get asked on my Birthday “Are you baking your own cake?” and the answer is always “YES!” I love baking and it’s the one cake a year where I get to do exactly what I want! So this year I made the banoffee cake which was in March’s Olive magazine and chose a design that was simple but elegant. Click here for the scrummy recipe.

P1240055.JPGIt’s time for our 1st batch of Christmas baking! As usual I am baking for Serpentine Running Club for the last cross country race before Christmas, so it seemed fitting to make something Christmas theme and in red and gold – the clubs colours. I love the Hummingbird Bakery Christmas cupcake recipe, it has got all the flavours of a Christmas cake, but its lovely and light and is topped with scrummy almond butter cream. IMG_4570Last weekend I went to the wedding of Rob and Sian – Sian and I grew up in the same village and we’ve known each other since we were about 3 years old. As well as being invited to the wedding, I got to make the cake. Tom and I had a great time at the wedding – everything about the day was perfect. Keep reading.

A couple of months ago I made my first wedding cake of 2016 and the first since little Emily arrived. The design that Helen and Nick came up with was quite dramatic and worked beautifully with the theme of their wedding. Helen is English, so the cake had some large red roses and Nick is from New Zealand, so some ferns were also included in the design. Click here to see some more pics of this stand out cake.
