These are slightly out of date now given I made them during the Wimbledon fortnight but given its still summer/tennis season, I think they’re still relevant. My Uncle Pe-pe is currently cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End with his brother-in-law Tim. He’s not going at quite the same speed as the Tour de France but then he’s not a cyclist, they’re not having any rest days and they don’t have a support crew following them so they are cycling with all their kit and camping, so he’s doing an amazing job! Rather than just donating, I decided to use a tiny amount of the money I was going to donate (less than £5) to make some cakes to raise a bit more money… and that’s when I came up with these cupcakes. 20130715-215317.jpgFor Father’s Day this year, I decided to bake my dad a present – Amaretto brownies. Since I wasn’t going to see him on the Sunday, I gave them to him, freshly baked, on the Saturday. The plan was that he wouldn’t eat them until Father’s Day, but the temptation was too great and he couldn’t wait. He said he’d just have one, but after he’d eaten it, he decided one just wasn’t enough so had a second… after that my mum decided to ration them!
