Over the summer we took the girls to see The Jungle Book at the open air theatre at Hever Castle, Emily absolutely loved it and decided she wanted a Jungle Book themed party for her 6th Birthday. So I set about designing a cake – she was quite specific about the things she wanted included – a waterfall, a tree with the number 6 hanging off it, Mowgli, Baloo and the baby elephant. I absolutely love making and decorating our Christmas cake each year and spending the time looking at ideas of what to make. I came across this design and thought it looked really good fun. And luckily I had the opportunity to make a second cake for our friends Matt and Beckie and their two kids Ellie and Freddie as their Christmas pressie again this year, so this was the perfect excuse to make it.

Before I set up this blog, my sister Becky and I had talked about setting up a blog together. However, due to the fact that we were both too busy and didn’t see each other that often, nothing happened. So just under 2 years ago I decided to go it alone.
A few months ago she said she wanted to join in the blogging fun, and thought it would be a good idea to join mine. Technically she’s no longer a Glover, but she’ll always be my sister and she makes “loverly” cakes too so I’ve agreed to let her join my blogging journey.
