I absolutely love making and decorating our Christmas cake each year and spending the time looking at ideas of what to make. I came across this design and thought it looked really good fun. And luckily I had the opportunity to make a second cake for our friends Matt and Beckie and their two kids Ellie and Freddie as their Christmas pressie again this year, so this was the perfect excuse to make it.

I made Rudolph using some brown sugar florist paste and each leg had a cocktail stick inserted into it so that when they had hardened they were easy to attach to the cake. I made the holly and snowflakes with more sugar florists paste and a holly and snowflake cutter.

I iced the cake in white sugar paste and made sure it was long enough to cut a wiggly edge around the base to look like a pile of snow. It was a very simple but really fun cake to make which will hopefully bring some smiles this Christmas!
