A few weeks ago I gave in and I bought the new Hummingbird Bakery cookbook, Home Sweet Home. I debated for a long time whether or not I should get it – I have a large collection of baking books and I’ve only made a fraction of the recipes in them, so do I really need any more? I decided yes. I love the Cake Days book from the Hummingbird Bakery and the latest one is also full of interesting recipes.
Now you’re probably thinking that this blog post is going to be something from Home Sweet Home, but it’s not. However, the book did inspire these biscuits and cupcakes. While flicking through the pretty pictures and drooling over the recipes to find something to make for a charity cake sale, I came across jammy dodger and custard cream cupcakes. This then made me think why not add Bourbon biscuits and party rings to the mix to create a whole selection of party biscuit cupcakes. Making four types of cupcake and four different biscuits was a bit too much for one evening so I decided to make the biscuits over the bank holiday weekend. I think trying to fit the four recipes into one blog post would also be too much so more to follow shortly….
