If you like our Facebook page you’ll have seen that a month ago today, Becky gave birth to a beautiful baby girl – Emily Charlotte Phillips! I took the first opportunity I had to go down and meet her. I wanted to take down a cake, so with the help of mum (who made the rocky road cake for me!) I created this very rushed cake.
Maybe I’m biased but she is super cute! I was so pleased that I got to go down to meet her and have cuddles when she was only a few days old. If I lived closer I’d be visiting them every week! 
I used various odd bits of coloured icing that I had left over from recent cakes I’ve made, so some of the decorations (trees and grass) looked a bit cracked – I’m hoping that she was too tired to notice! I decorated it with a little family of owls since Becky has decorated the nursery with an owl theme. The feathers on the tummies were meant to be small circles but I didn’t bring my small cutters/piping nozzles back so I ended up using a tiny heart cutter.
I’m sure it won’t be long before Emily starts baking… She already has an apron and a baking-themed baby grow (which she nearly fits into!)…
