Last week I invited over Zahrah from work for a long overdue baking session on Friday, without knowing what the technical challenge would be. So when I discovered it was pizza I was really pleased – it meant we could make it for our dinner! Click
Zahrah told me that I’d be able to get fresh yeast from the cheese shop in the Grainger Market (definitely not the first place I’d have thought of going!) so I went at lunch and picked some up. We decided that since neither of us had watched Italian week we should make the dough and then watch the episode while the dough proved. We both had a go at making the dough but since the tomato sauce said it would cover more than one pizza we just made one batch.
We got to midway through the technical challenge before we needed to shape the dough. As per the instructions we ‘threw’ the dough to shape it! I don’t have a pizza stone but I’ve got a couple of pizza tins so we preheated them. The pizza doesn’t take long to cook but we had time to watch a bit more of the bake off before it was ready. Once it was baked we ate it whilst watching the rest of the bake off! The recipe was really good and I will definitely make it again – probably with different toppings next time. If you want to have a go yourself the recipe can be found here.
