I am finally getting round to catching up on blogging about all the baking I have done over the last few years, I’ve made so many things that I haven’t got round to sharing, so I thought I would try over the next few months to attempt to publish some of them on here. I made the pink flamingo cupcakes for Emily to take to nursery for her 3rd Birthday last year. She loves flamingos, so these were perfect and the nursery staff loved them too! Click
I made a batch of vanilla cupcakes, then cored them and put a teaspoon of homemade raspberry jam in the middle. Then piped pink vanilla buttercream on top. The flamingo’s heads were made from florist sugar paste as I needed them to set hard so that they would hold there shape and not break. I stuck a small amount of white and then black paste to create the beaks. The wings were made using a heart shaped cutter. Once I had piped the buttercream, I inserted the heads and a wing on each side, very quick and easy to make, but very effective!
