
I haven’t made white rolls for ages so I was happy to give the technical challenge a go this week (although some of the showstoppers looked amazing so I might have to scoring bread soon!). The recipe was easy to follow and if you ignore the proving time they were quite quick – there wasn’t much hands on time apart from the 10 mins kneading. The only change I made to the recipe was to use butter instead of vegetable shortening (because I didn’t have any) – luckily it didn’t seem to affect the buns too much.
I decided to make the burgers as well (although I only assembled one for my dinner – I froze the rest). The bread rolls were really soft and the spicy bean burgers were really tasty. I decided to make some sweet potato fries to go with it too – it was a good dinner and I’m looking forward to eating the rest of them soon!
