Finally this years GBBO is underway! It was a great start to the series and I can’t wait for next weeks episode already. This year I am getting a bit of help with my baking from Emily who really enjoyed watching it for the first time on Wednesday morning and couldn’t wait to try and make them. So click
Paul’s recipe for the Wagon Wheels can be found here. The recipe was easy to follow and Emily loved helping to weigh out all the ingredients and rub the butter and flour together!
I made the biscuits with Doves Farm gluten free plain flour and added 1 tsp of xantham gum to help bind them together. I also decided to melt more than 225g of chocolate, I did 400g so that I had loads to pour over the top to get a really good covering. Most of it ended up in a huge puddle on the baking tray underneath, so I probably only used 200g in total, but it made it a lot easier to have all the extra chocolate to pour over the top.
We didn’t manage to finish it all before we had to head out to meet friends on Wednesday, so I finished making everything on Thursday while Emily was a nursery, then when she got home we couldn’t resist trying one after her tea! They were delicious!
