Can’t believe we are up to week 5 already on this years Bake Off! We had a free weekend at home this weekend, so this technical challenge was perfect for pudding on Saturday night. I hadn’t made choux pastry for a long time, so this was a good one to try. Click
I managed to get a couple of the stages done before the girls went to bed as I didn’t have time to get it all done in one go. I also made extra jam as we do love jam on toast in our house, so it’s always nice to have another flavour of homemade jam.
Thankfully everything went to plan and although I thought my choux might be a bit runny, it was actually ok and I managed to dollop spoonfuls into the hot oil and the majority of them were round. I didn’t quite manage to make 18 as the first 6 I made were probably a bit too big!
They tasted delicious, although they were quite sickly with the jam and the super sweet sabayon too!
