I can’t believe we are nearly at week 8 on the GBBO already! We had a very dark and rainy Friday afternoon here, so Emily and I decided it was perfect timing to make this weeks technical challenge. And luckily Chloe decided she was exhausted and had a 2.5 hour nap giving us plenty of time to get these done and in the fridge ready to deep fry for pudding as a Friday treat. Click
This was definitely quite a good technical challenge as there were plenty of things that could go wrong, but having seen some of the mistakes the bakers made, it made me more conscious of doing everything precisely. Emily and I had lots of fun using the pasta machine as well as crimping the edges with a fork – I did help to make sure they were well sealed.
Paul’s recipe can be found here. It was generally quite easy to do, but we had to take our time making sure we didn’t put too much filling in and that they were well sealed. I left them in the fridge for a couple of hours while I got dinner ready and did some packing for our weekend away. We were visiting Rich’s sister and family who had asked earlier in the week if we would be making them to bring along! I really wasn’t sure we would have time, but when the rain set in for the day on Friday, it changed our plans so we had time to bake instead of going out for the afternoon. They really were delicious and I would definitely make them again and may be try a different filling next time.
