Up until about 4 years ago I rarely baked bread, Rich didn’t really eat gluten so I didn’t really have any reason to make it. But when he started eating gluten again I slowly started making more bread and trying different things and now I’m totally addicted and bake bread at least once a week but usually 4-5 times! I make a loaf or two of milk bread most weeks, as it’s lovely and soft and perfect for toast in the morning, so I was very excited to see the bakers giving it a go. I also love trying new breads for lunch at the weekend and with the weather turning colder we’ll definitely be having soup and bread for lunch a lot more. The girls absolutely love green olives, so they were both very pleased the breadsticks had them in. They helped weight out the ingredients and pour in the water when the mixer was running. The dough really was super wet and sticky. The recipe can be found here.

They also enjoyed helping make the tzatziki. After the first prove I tipped the dough out and it was so sloppy, I made a big sticky mess trying to cut and shape the sticks and then get them onto the baking trays in one piece, probably the hardest dough I’ve worked with!

But once they were baked they really did smell and taste amazing! We all enjoyed them for lunch on Saturday and Sunday and even had to make more tzatziki it was so good!
