I’d seen a design years ago on Pinterest with reindeer around the outside of the cake, it looked like a quite a simple idea, so I wanted to do something similar and add my own touch.
So instead of doing completely flat reindeer and drawing on the antlers I thought it would bring the cake to life a bit more to make the reindeer stick out a bit and do some big antlers sticking out around and above the cake. I loved making each one unique, with some silly faces and different expressions. The antlers were made with florist sugar paste and had wires in the ends so they could be inserted into the cake and they would hold their shape.
