This week was biscuit week on the GBBO and we really enjoyed the episode. I loved the idea of making a biscuit mask and might try it one day with the girls, I think they would really enjoy decorating their own masks. I have never made garibaldi biscuit so we were looking forward to trying them out. Click here to see how we got on.

Emily really enjoyed being my little helper this week and after I decorated them I helped her practice piping white chocolate and learning how to feather it. It was lots of fun and we both got very chocolatey! The recipe can be found here.

Having watched the episode and heard the judges comments about the biscuits being a bit soft, I made sure the dried fruit had dried out nicely before adding it on top of the first layer of biscuit dough. I saved the liquid that came out of the dried fruit and poured it over some plums and roasted them in the over, super yummy! Once they were baked and cooled they felt really fragile so I dipped them very carefully in the chocolate, luckily they were ok and didn’t break. We also baked and dipped the off cuts too. The biscuits were delicious, the chocolate was a great addition.

You are Star Baker for this week! Wonderful job and thanks for sharing your journey.
