
I was very excited to hear that they were doing a Mexican Week this year in GBBO, I love Mexican food! I have made tacos before and actually still had some of the yellow corn flour left. So I planned to make these for our dinner on Saturday night, perfect weekend food. Click here to see how we got on.

The girls were very keen to help, they love measuring out spices, peeling onions and garlic etc. We scaled down the chilli a bit, but actually the chillies that I had were very mild luckily. Paul’s recipe can be found here.

Luckily using the flour saved a bit of time. Emily helped divide the dough into 8 equal portions by weighing it. I used a large saucepan lid that is missing its handle to squash them, I remember using it last time and it worked quite well. We prepared the salsa, guacamole and beans in the afternoon so when it was dinner time it was quick and easy to just cook the steak and assemble them. They were really good and the girls absolutely loved them too!

Your tacos look great! Just as good as any of those on the show.
The producers missed the mark though. Not very authentic. Started out okay with Pan Dulce and got worse from there.
