Having done every challenge last week and then this week we had Emily’s Birthday on Friday, lunch out on Saturday and a huge chocolate cake to eat, I decided that just doing half the recipe was enough! So one each for Rich and me and then one for the girls to share. I still have some blackcurrants in the freezer from Em’s garden which was lucky. Click here to keep reading.

I had a look at the recipe, which can be found here. There were lots of stages, so I used the odd bits of free time I had to do a bit at a time over the weekend. We don’t have a microwave so I had to caramelise the white chocolate in the oven instead, I have done this before and it worked. This time though it was very dry and crumbly, but by gently warming it with some double cream in a Bain Marie, I managed to turn it back into melted chocolate again. My first round of jelly didn’t work either as I was using powdered gelatine, so I had to adapt the recipe and didn’t get the proportions right! But it worked the second time luckily. They tasted absolutely amazing, the caramelised white chocolate flavour is delicious!
