We were all away together on a family holiday last week and managed to watch the GBBO together for the first time in a long time! I don’t think any of us were particularly keen to make these having seen the curd cheese being made, but when we looked at the recipe it actually sounded pretty good. So on Sunday afternoon Emily and I had a go at making them. Click
Emily loves helping out and has really enjoyed watching the bake off so far, she’s just starting to get a proper understanding of how it works and is enjoying seeing who is star baker each week. This week while I was busy whisking the lemon curd, she was constantly shouting at me “Bakers, you have 5 minutes remaining!” or “When you’re finished place you bake behind your picture!” She’s clearly been paying attention!
The recipe was generally quite easy, just lots of separate steps. It can be found here on the GBBO website. My pastry didn’t puff very much, but probably because it was a bit rushed and was handled a bit too much by some warm little hands! But the end result was great and they tasted delicious. Perfect Sunday afternoon snack with a cup of tea.
