Gloverly Cupcakes

I still have a big backlog of cakes and bakes that I have made that I haven’t uploaded on our website yet, so over the next few weeks I’ll try and add some of these, especially as I’m not getting enough time to do much baking at the moment. I created this Harry Potter Birthday cake for one of Rich’s friends at work and really enjoyed making it – I can’t wait to read the books again when the girls are a bit older! Click

The glasses and snitch for this were made from sugar florist paste as it dries really hard. I inserted some florist wire into the wings of the snitch so that they could be inserted once they had dried. I used my small sewing scissors to cut the wings.

I used an airbrush on the sorting hat to give it an aged look. I don’t use it very often, but I’m always really surprised by the affect it gives and should definitely try to use it more often!
