Bread week this year was amazing, so many interesting bakes and some brilliant bread making skills! I wanted to try all the challenges but just haven’t had the time, so decided to stick to doing the technical, which was perfect to eat over the weekend for lunch with some soup! Click here to see how I got on.

As we had such a busy weekend planned, I wasn’t able to make this with the girls this week, so I had a go on Friday afternoon. The recipe can be found here. It was a simple bread to make and I used the scales to divide it into 7 equal pieces.

Although I bake bread several times a week, I don’t braid it very often, but this was fairly simple. I think the hardest part was rolling out the strands, I always find it hard to get them even thickness all the way along. My join wasn’t the neatest and it lost a bit of definition, but it baked really nicely and was a lovely white loaf, delicious warm with plenty of salted butter!
