I was very tempted this week to have a go at an illusion biscuit bake, but realised it would take far too long, so settled for doing the technical again and you can’t beat a good custard cream! I baked with the girls again on Saturday but due to how long these took to chill and cut out I had to finish them off after bed time, but it meant we had a big box to take with us to the rugby festival on Sunday and share with the team. A few weeks ago I gave in and I bought the new Hummingbird Bakery cookbook, Home Sweet Home. I debated for a long time whether or not I should get it – I have a large collection of baking books and I’ve only made a fraction of the recipes in them, so do I really need any more? I decided yes.
