I’m not sure where the last week has gone – how is it nearly bake off time already? I was rapidly running out of time to do the latest technical challenge from batter week, so I decided to try to cook a batch tonight.
These weren’t as simple as I thought they would be. For a start, the batter (recipe here) was way too thin. Even after adding about double the amount of flour I think it could have done with a bit more. However, I was running out of time so I had to go with what I’d made. They also could have done with a bit longer to brown, but I was in a rush to get them all cooked!
In the end I made 16 and decided to try a few different patterns out. Some of them ended up looking a bit messy, probably due to the mixture being a bit runny and using a piping bag rather than a squeezy bottle. These are a bit more time consuming than just making normal pancakes but I’m already looking forward to having them for pudding later!
