Easter Bunny Flowerpot Cake

Last year I had a minor operation on my left hand just before Easter so I wasn’t able to make and decorate an Easter cake, so this year I had to make up for it by creating something special. I took inspiration from a flower pot cake that I had seen and reused the two bunnies I had kept safe in a box from the Easter cake I made a few years ago. I also tried a new simnel cake recipe that had chocolate in and pistachio marzipan. Click here to see more pics of this colourful cake and try the recipe.

Bunny Birthday Cake

It was Chloe’s 5th Birthday at the end of November and once again she was very specific about the cake she wanted! She chose a bunny design with pink, blue and purple flowers and requested the bake off chocolate fudge cake with some salted caramel between each layer – good choice Chloe! Over Easter weekend it was our Grandma’s 90th Birthday and to celebrate we had a wonderful family weekend together. It all started with a surprise Birthday lunch for Grandma followed by tea and cake of course! Making cakes for the family is always special, particularly this time as Emma and I were always fascinated by the sugar flowers that Grandma used to make, so it was really lovely to be able to make some for her.
