Just before Christmas last year, a family friend, Emma, asked if I would be able to make her wedding cake. Despite not living near where the wedding was going to be I said yes since it was near my parents so I thought it would be a good chance to go back to my parents for a few days. A couple of weeks ago Aimée, one of my friends from work got married. She asked me/I offered to make her wedding cake. As with most of the other wedding cakes I’ve made, she said she wanted something “simple”. Based on past experience “simple” often doesn’t end up being simple!
