I always make a Yule log at Christmas although at the moment I haven’t found a favourite recipe, so I am keen to keep trying some new ones. Last year I chose a white chocolate, orange and cranberry flavoured one and adapted a couple of recipes to make it, click here to see the full recipe.

I always try to make the girls teachers and teaching assistants some cupcakes for Christmas, this year I bought some mini candy canes and decided to use those to decorate the cupcakes with. And of course they had to be candy cane flavoured cupcakes too. Click here to keep reading.

It was Emily’s 8th Birthday a couple of weeks ago and this year she decided she wanted a Welsh rugby ball cake. She also wanted the Bake Off chocolate fudge cake as it was so yummy, so I managed to reshape the left over huge cake from week 1 of the Bake Off and turn it into rugby ball. Perfect! It’s definitely now one of our Christmas traditions to give our best friends Matt and Beckie a Christmas cake as a Christmas present. I was asked to create a cake for one of the Mum’s from Chloe’s old pre-school for her new baby daughters Christening. She had several ideas but was undecided on exactly what she wanted. Several months before Chloe’s 3rd Birthday she suddenly announced one morning that she wanted a panda Birthday cake. She’s always loved pandas, just like Emily and her favourite cuddly toy is a panda too. But we hadn’t really talked about Birthday cakes and I don’t think she knew that Emily had a panda cake for her 3rd Birthday too!
