Like all of the bakers, I hadn’t heard of Puits d’Amour either so I was intrigued to try them out this weekend. I also have to admit that I’m not sure I have ever made a creme pat and I think the last time I made choux pastry was when I was at school! So this week was definitely a new challenge! I was quite relieved that last weeks challenge looked like something easy enough to make with Emily, as she’s very keen to help out in the kitchen! I can’t believe that this years bake off has now finished! I really enjoyed watching it and thought the new presenters were great and I was really pleased with the result, Sophie throughly deserved to win! I’m actually feeling quite relieved that all the technical challenges are now done and I can start to think about Christmas baking. So here is my attempt at the iced ginger biscuits.

Last week on the Great British Bake Off was patisserie week. I rarely make any patisserie stuff as it just takes so long to do (and that’s coming from someone who makes novelty cakes and loves spending hours making sugar paste flowers!). This week was caramel week on the Great British Bake Off and I was intrigued to see what the technical challenge would be. I didn’t watch it live but Becky text me after it finished and asked if I fancied buying an ice cream waffle cone maker – I was intrigued! Since neither of us own one, and Becky said she wouldn’t use it (it’s a bit hard to make them gluten free) I said I was happy to buy it but asked her to order it for me since I was away and worried it wouldn’t arrive in time.
