As chocolate orange is one of my absolute favourite flavours I couldn’t resist making these as a treat for breakfast in the run up to Christmas. I knew the girls would love them too, the only problem was that one just wasn’t enough! Click here to try this recipe.

Although this one isn’t strictly a Christmas recipe, everyone loves a chocolate brownie and these are really good, the salty pretzels add a yummy crunch and using these Christmas ones adds a festive touch. Click here to see the recipe.

I’m a bit late getting going with the Christmas recipes this year, I’m not really sure where the time has gone! But I have been busy baking, so I have plenty of Christmas recipes to share over the next couple of weeks. Here’s the first recipe, one of my favourite flavours – chocolate orange. Last week’s Bake Off final certainly didn’t disappoint! It was so close I really wasn’t sure who was going to win. Rich was very pleased that the technical was something he really likes, so we were looking forward to making these! The girls also love any kind of sweet bread buns, so I knew these would go down well. Click here to see how we got on.

I can’t believe this is the penultimate technical challenge, we’ve had a lot of fun again this year trying them all out. In particular getting to try things I wouldn’t normally choose to make, the recipes always surprise us. This week was no exception, click here to see how I got on.

Free from week on the bake off always surprises me, they make things that I would never usually attempt or things that really don’t appeal, but when I give them a go they are usually pretty good! This week was no exception, I love making sausage rolls and have tried plenty of different recipes over the years. But a vegan sausage roll didn’t really appeal – if you had told me it was a mushroom, lentil and miso pie I would have thought it sounded delicious. Click here to see how I got on.

It was Emily’s 6th Birthday party last weekend, so I didn’t have time to do the technical challenge as I was busy making and decorating her Jungle Book themed cake (coming soon!). So after a busy 2 week half term and kids party I decided to treat myself to some baking! I absolutely love Baklava but rarely eat it and have never attempted to make it, let alone make filo pastry, so it was great to give this a go. Click here to see how I got on.

We all love chocolate cake in our house and especially a cake with lots of buttercream and ganache! So we were very happy to try this recipe out this weekend. It also made the perfect pudding for our friends who came over for lunch on Sunday, both the grown ups and kids loved it. Click here to see how we got on.

Can’t believe it’s week 4 of the bake off already! As we were away at the weekend, I made these for pudding on Friday night as a treat. I didn’t think there would be time to make them after school on Friday with the girls as it seems to take about twice the amount of time when they help! So I made them in stages throughout the day by myself and then baked time in time for pudding, Click here to see how I got on.
